The Tennessee Freedom Tour, a initiative to get voters to the polls to vote Republican hosted by Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton, made a stop in Rhea County on Wednesday morning. Cameron Sexton was present for this event along with John Rose, Congressman representing Tennessee’s 6th District in Washington.
“I ran for congress because I am afraid of what this country is going toward,” Rose spoke to the crowd that gathered around.
“Do you remember who the 45th President was,” Rose asked the crowd. The crowd all loudly replied, “Trump!” Rose continued, “And who is going to be the 47th President of the United States,” Rose continued. The crowd again cheered, ‘Trump!”
Cameron Sexton, Speaker of the House of Representatives for Tennessee, spoke a few words as well.
“The Republicans have called this the freedom tour because we are about freedom. The Democrats are not about freedom, they are about control,” Sexton stated to the crowd. “I encourage you, when you are at church this week, ask your friends if they have voted. If they haven’t, encourage them to go vote. If the Christian vote turns out, Trump will win this election by a landslide,” Sexton continued.
The Tennessee Freedom Tour is traveling all across the state to encourage voters to go to the polls and vote Republican. Their tour schedule can be viewed on their website at https://tngop.org/bus-tour.
Early voting in Rhea County has turned out to be a HUGE turnout so far. In fact, election officials told Sexton that as of today, they have had more people early vote in this election that they have in the past. Early voting lasts until October 31st. See the schedule below:
