On December 20, 2023, Governor Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) officials announced that the company will invest $16.5 million to expand manufacturing operations at its location here in Dayton.
Baltimore Aircoil Company is located on Manufacturers Road and is a worldwide leader in the HVAC industry, and industrial refrigeration. Its headquarters is based out of Jessup, Maryland employing thousands of employees around the world.
The project itself at its Dayton location is estimated to bring 63 new jobs, bringing the company’s total headcount in Tier-4 At-risk Rhea County to more than 150.
“Thanks to Tennessee’s significant investment in technical colleges, BAC will have access to a workforce of skilled tradesmen and women. I thank them for choosing to create new, high-quality jobs in Southeast Tennessee and look forward to seeing BAC’s continued success in Dayton,” Governor Lee stated during the announcement.
