Dayton Police Officers took some time out of their busy schedules today to go by the Clyde W Roddy Public Library in Dayton to read to the children during their Preschool Story Hour. Investigator Green, Officer Huffman, and Officer Dupre were the officers who participated in the event today.
The Library posted their appreciation to the officers on their Facebook Page thanking them for coming and serving.
Our officers in Rhea County, Dayton City, Spring City, and Graysville City do things like this all the time for our community. Not only do they serve and protect our community from crime, but they also go and serve in community events like this. They don’t have to. They go and do it because they want to. They go and do it because they care.
Clyde W Roddy Public Library has several events throughout the week just like this one. They have Bingo tomorrow, January 11, at 10:00 am. They also have a Book Club that is meeting on January 25 at 5:00 pm where they will be discussing the book, Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris.
The library also just announced that they are launching a new program for infants. The age to participate is up to 1 year old. It will be a lap storytime for the kids and then the parents can learn finger plays, songs, rhymes, and other activities that they can use at home. Contact the library at 423-775-8406 for more information about this new program, and any other events that they might have going on. You can also view a copy of their newsletter on their website by visiting https://www.clydewroddy.org.
