Linda Blevins is no stranger to the Rhea County community. That is all due to her volunteer spirit and huge work ethic that she exemplifies and shows in everything that she does. In fact, she has won several awards highlighting her volunteer service and commitment to the community, and now she is getting one of the biggest honors in Rhea County- being selected as the Grand Marshal for the Strawberry Festival Parade.
The Strawberry Festival Planning Committee announced on their Facebook Page last week that Ms. Linda Blevins was selected as this years Grand Marshal.
Ms. Blevins worked at Rhea Medical Center as a RN supervisor and Assistant Director of Nursing for approximately 40 years. She is retired now, however, she continues to volunteer and work hard for the community. She has volunteered with the Tennessee Strawberry Festival Committee, Main Street Dayton, RETC, United Way of Rhea County, RC3, and the Rhea County American Cancer Society. The list could go on forever on her volunteer service, different positions that she has held with these organizations, and how long she has volunteered with each organization. Most of these organizations she is still actively apart of.
Ms. Blevins has been awarded several awards highlighting and honoring her volunteer commitment to Rhea County. She was the recipient of the Tennessee Hospital Association Volunteer Award, Governor’s Volunteer Star Award, and two time recipient of the Dayton Chamber’s Volunteer Award.
“To know her is to love her and to know her love for the Rhea County Community,” the Strawberry Festival Committee posted on their Facebook page announcing Ms. Blevins as their selection. They couldn’t be more true with that statement. Ms. Blevins always radiates kindness, love, and generosity.
The 77TH Annual TN Strawberry Festival is scheduled to take place from May 6th- May 11th. You can view more information about the Festival at their website https://tnstrawberryfestival.com/?
