Graysville Elementary School named a Tennessee Reward School for the second year in a row. The Reward School designation is the highest distinction that a school can earn by scoring in the top 5% in the state.
This distinction is based on various performance indicators, including student achievement and growth. 400 schools across the state earned this distinction, and Graysville was one of them.
“I am excited to highlight the Reward Schools and Exemplary Districts across the state for their commitment to ensuring students are growing and learning every day,” said Lizzette Reynolds, Commissioner of Education. “These annual designations are a testament to the hard work our educators and school and district leaders provide to students each and every day across the state.”
This is the second year in a row that Graysville haha earned this distinction. This speaks volumes about the education that is being provided to our students not only in Graysville, but across the entire County.
“I applaud the teachers, staff, and administration at Graysville Elementary School for their steadfast focus on student learning and achievement. Reward School designation is confirmation of the outstanding work going on at Graysville Elementary School,” states Jesse Messimer, Director of Rhea County Schools.
“GES has an excellent faculty & staff who care deeply about our students’ physical, social, & academic needs. Two thirds of our tested teachers earned the state’s highest TVAAS growth score last year, and achievement increased in 9 of the 11 tested subjects. We cultivate a culture of success through multiple incentives and rewards, and we are blessed with district leaders who fund high quality instructional materials and support staff,” stated Heather Jewell, Principal of Graysville Elementary.
