On Tuesday February 13th, news crews were present at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center, a nursing home owned by Signature Healthcare. News Crews were there in response to a family member that has several complaints citing lack of patient care, bed bugs, mold, and the facility just being dirty.
The Rhea County Observer is investigating these claims and hopes to have more information soon.
We did reach out to the facility directly and still have not heard back. We reached out to the corporate communications manager and she emailed a statement.
“At Signature HealthCARE the safety, care, and comfort of our residents is our top priority, and their experience in our facilities is important to us. We work diligently to help bring any concerns to a resolution that satisfies all parties involved, to the best of our ability. We have looked into the matter that has been raised, and are addressing each with the concerned parties involved.”
It was previously reported that she never emailed a statement, however, after checking our spam email folder, there was in-fact an email sent several minutes after the phone conversation with our Publisher, Bailey Hufstetler, and Ann Bowdan Wilder, Communications Manager for Signature.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and will keep you updated as we find out more.
