Spring City Chamber holds its 60th Christmas at the Depot this past Saturday, December 9, 2023. Christmas at the Depot is a wonderful event put on by the Spring City Chamber of Commerce that includes activities and entertainment for the entire family and of course the iconic Christmas Parade! It is also a time for the local businesses in Spring City and surrounding to get involved with their own little “Hallmark town,” as some residents call Spring City.
Every year, the Chamber of Commerce awards selected parade participants with the following distinctions: Best Car, Best Float, and Best Theme Execution. On Monday, the Spring City Chamber announced the winners of those categories on their Facebook page. Below are the results:
Best Car- Brett Hurst’s 1967 Ford Galaxie 500
Best Float- Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center
Best Theme Execution- Rhea Medical Center
This year’s parade was one of the largest recorded with over 50 parade entries, nearly 100 individual vehicles, walking groups, carriages, and school groups!
“I love to see our community come together in the center of town. It brings out the young and the old to celebrate Christmas,” said Robbie Harvey, current Spring City Chamber President. “We have a special place here with special people. All the long hours of planning and work is worth it when you see the joy on each person’s face,” he continued.
The Spring City Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization designed to help boost and maintain economic development in Spring City. They are the heart of the community when it comes to community wide events, economic growth, and the City’s prosperity. This organization is run by a wonderful group of volunteers who love Spring City and want to see it grow! You can find out more information about their upcoming events and how you can support them at springcitychamber.org.
